Join the PAEP Western Section for a Special Speaker Presentation on:
Using Citizen Engagement and Stakeholder Input to Inform a
Data-Driven Methodology for revitalizing an Urban Watershed
By: Ms. Lisa W. Brown
Economic Development South / Saw Mill Run Watershed Association
The Saw Mill Run watershed has a history of flooding, water quality impairments, and poorly planned development. This session discusses how citizen engagement and stakeholder input are being used to inform a data-driven methodology for revitalizing the environmental, economic, and social health of this urban watershed and transforming the blighted main commercial corridor into a Green Boulevard. Topics include innovative property evaluation methodologies and digital applications to engage ‘citizen scientists’. Attendees will learn how these tools can be adapted to project needs and participate in a hands-on demonstration of the Water Reporter mobile application.
