Pennsylvania’s Conservation Heritage is the People, Places, and Policies, of our past that contribute to our understanding of the role of conservation in protecting and enhancing our environment and quality of life for future generations.
The PAEP realizes that, with a better understanding of Conservation Heritage, we can learn from the conservation successes and failures of the past, understand what motivated our many important conservation leaders and citizens to overcome the obstacles of conservation, and so that we can teach others about the benefits of conservation. It is the goal of the PAEP to promote Pennsylvania’s Conservation Heritage.
The PAEP was instrumental in the passage of Senate Resolution No. 324 which encourages the Pennsylvania Historical and Museum Commission to “work with other public and private organizations to help promote local and regional elements of the conservation heritage of the commonwealth.”
